Why I’m Running for United States Senate

I believe it is time everyday people had a say about the way our country and our state is run. And I believe it is time for a change in the kinds of people we send to Washington to conduct the people’s business.

I aim to be a different kind of candidate, with a new set of priorities. As a former MTA official, I learned a lot about mass transit, and I believe it is critical to improving our economy, protecting our environment, and improving our quality of life – in New York state, and across the country. And, I have the expertise in this area to help promote transportation policies effectively.

I believe a committed investment in transportation infrastructure and alternative energy development is the key to creating jobs, new businesses, and sound forms of investment – one that will help lower the U.S. trade deficit, avoid further damage to the environment, and help our financial sector as well.

My goal is to be the kind of candidate Democratic voters can believe in — one whose political beliefs are reliable and not constantly shifting — and one who can really relate to the everyday lives of you, the people of New York.
